In this guide

A reviewable path, not a bag of tips.

AI can make ambiguity look polished. A brief review is the point where the team decides what is true, what is still unknown, and what the creative is actually responsible for delivering.

  1. 01Separate facts from creative choices
  2. 02Write one audience and one moment
  3. 03Connect promise, proof, and action
  4. 04Define the output contract

Separate facts from creative choices

Product facts, prices, dates, and legal language need an approved source. Palette, composition, image treatment, and tone are creative choices that can vary during exploration. Put them in different parts of the brief.

Write one audience and one moment

“Everyone” gives the Agent no useful context. Name who is seeing the work, what is happening around them, and why this message matters now.

Connect promise, proof, and action

The promise says why someone should care. The proof makes that promise credible. The action tells the layout what the reader should do next. If these three do not align, visual polish will not fix the campaign.

Define the output contract

List the placements, dimensions, required copy, asset references, and review owner. This turns “make a campaign” into a deliverable the team can actually approve.

Worked example

Tighten a vague speaker launch request

The initial request says only “make a cool social campaign for our new speaker.”

  1. 01

Name apartment renters as the first audience and small rooms as the moment.

  2. 02

Define “room-filling sound in a compact object” as the promise.

  3. 03

Mark battery duration as pending instead of fabricating a number.

  4. 04

Confirm Feed and Story designs plus one owner for copy approval.

Outcome

A bounded brief that can generate useful directions without turning missing product facts into claims.

FAQ

Questions to carry into review.

How long should an AI design brief be?

Long enough to lock the audience, promise, proof, action, visual constraints, and deliverables. A structured screen is usually more useful than several pages of prose.

What should happen when a fact is unknown?

Mark it as pending and keep it out of published copy. Do not ask the model to fill a factual gap with plausible language.
