AI requests reserve Credits while work runs, then charge completed work and release unused reservations. Credit activity records your charges and balance changes without interrupting each editing step.
Before an AI request starts, Retake reserves its quoted Credit amount on the server. Available balance falls while work runs so concurrent requests cannot spend the same Credits. Review reserved, charged, and released amounts in Credit activity.
Success settles the reservation
When the provider completes and the result bytes are safely stored, Retake settles the reservation and records the successful usage. Repeating the same idempotency key returns the existing outcome instead of charging again.
Check charges after a failure or cancellation
Unused reservations are released according to the final operation result. Completed work can still be charged if a request partially succeeds or finishes before cancellation takes effect. Check Credit activity and saved results before retrying; contact support if a charge or reservation looks incorrect.
Partial output is not discarded
For multi-image work, successfully stored candidates remain available even if another candidate fails. Retake reports partial completion, releases the unconsumed portion according to the request contract, and lets you review what was saved.
No. Unused reservations are released. A partially successful request can charge completed work while preserving the candidates that were stored. Review the final result in Credit activity.
Why does my available balance fall before the image appears?
The amount is reserved while work is running to prevent concurrent overspending. It is settled or released when the request reaches a terminal state.
